A Magical Wish (and a lot of luck!)

A Magical Wish (and a lot of luck!)

I wasn’t going to blog tonight… but I couldn’t wait to show you this!!!

I HAVE BEEN FISHING FOR THIS FOR 3 YEARS!!! YES!!!!!!!!

pinchy

Oh he’s so cuuuuute! We are going to be friends I know it.

pinchy2

I’ve been popping to the Terokkar lakes when I have a minute forever. I’ll be the first to admit after a long initial grind I just kind of gave up, so on the off chance I spent half an hour tonight and voilà. Amazing what happens when you least expect it.

Even better? I got the Crawdad on the first wish. Bostin’!

Oh, whilst I’m here… check out this pretty Suramar sky 🙂

Have a beautiful evening ❤

A Triumphant(ish) Return

We can only apologise for the long period of time without a post. I will explain a little and perhaps you’ll understand why 🙂

About the time that we finished with the Community Project, we found out that we were expecting a baby.

Baby 20+4

Baby, 20+4

This was a long-awaited culmination of a year of ‘trying’ (I’ll leave out those details!) and we are over the moon. We have decided to keep the sex a surprise, and Baby is due 5th May 2015.

At the time, I was working full-time, being sick multiple times a day and I had never been so exhausted in my life. I have never been a good sleeper (gaming til 2am, up for work at 7am!), but I was sleeping non-stop and the blog – and Warcraft – suffered.

This was all around Sept-Nov and once we announced at the 12 week point, we were in the process of moving from our tiny city flat to a house in the country, about an hour from the old flat. We now have a garden, room for a nursery and a *lovely* hour commute to work. However, a much better life for baby and closer to my Mum, which is much better for us. Of course, with the extra 2 hours on our day and a new house to decorate, our gaming never picked up. We decided to cancel our WoW subscriptions for the time being.

Only recently, now we have finished decorating and have some spare time at the weekends, have we both been able to pick up where we left off. For Mr B, the pull of Warcraft and Draenor is lessening, mainly because he’s only ever been an alt-man, and there’s only so much garrison you can do. He’s currently addicted to Destiny on the PS3.

As for myself, I am around 33 weeks now, finishing work in a couple of weeks for maternity leave and have picked Warcraft back up. It’s taken ages to really understand the end game content – I had got to level 100 on my main before stopping, but no further. I have been casually gearing up, working on getting the garrison buildings established and working on professions. It’s all been a big learning curve, but I’ve definitely got the WoW bug again.

I hope this goes some way to explain our absence, and I hope you can forgive us. Posts will be much less regular, but now we are gaming again, we will start to share our adventures once more.

For now though, Happy Gaming and see you soon!

A Goal Achieved

After nearly a year of perseverance,  I finally hit my goal of 60 exalted reputations!

I have been rocking ‘The Beloved’ title ever since!

It’s a massive grind for only 10 points, but you do get lots of pretty mounts and tabards AND there’s something inside me that feels happy to see this:

Aviary Photo_130505923331763447

I’ve decided to keep going and see how many I can get. I have all the hard ones left now: Hydraxion Warlords (getting a bit sick of Molton Core!!), Booty Bay, Frenzyheart (I can’t be bothered after working so hard for the Oracles!) etc etc. I don’t feel a mad rush, but it’ll be nice to see if I can get a couple more done before WoD.

Do you guys like rep grinding?

Gaining Approval of the Kurenei

This week, I have been working towards my 59th rep, and after a couple of days of old-school grinding, I had it.

That rep is Kurenei, with the Ogres of Nagrand.

Aviary Photo_130503640410483496

I’m going to write a tiny post about how I went about gaining that rep. There might be more efficient ways to farm it, but this suited my current on/off mood.

Location (unscientifically tested!)

1. Northwind Cleft

  • 31 ogres to kill per lap
  • takes about 2mins per lap
  • 6-8 beads gained (including respawns on the way back)
  • Start outside, kill and loot all. In cave, turn right until you can’t. Turn 180 then follow same proceedure. Lots of ores in this cave too.
  • Pros: nice circular route, fast respawning ogres, good mining nodes
  • Cons: lots of levellers and popular with other rep grinders as lots of websites suggest this site

WoWScrnShot_071814_212357

Start here, enter cave and keeeeel.

2. Laughing Skull Ruins (near ring of blood)

  • 29-32 ogres to kill per lap
  • takes about 2mins per lap
  • 10-12 beads gained (including any respawns en route)
  • Start at one end and work your way across vertically following the mini village layout
  • Pros: more beads, out in the open (I hate caves!)
  • Cons: heavily contested by levellers and others in the area

Rep Gain

  • Make sure you do all the relevant quests, this should take you to almost revered
  • You get 11 rep per ogre plus the Warbeads you can hand in at Telaa. I handed the beads in every 100 stack, but others prefer to save those towards Consortium rep and just grind ogres. I personally find that a bit soul destroying, but each to their own.

To summarise – it’s a mean grind but you feel it goes quite quickly as you have quest items to hand in for instant reward. You pick up a LOT of netherweave cloth too – stacks of the stuff – so that’s a nice perk. Lots of competition for mobs though, so I always did it later at night.

Hope this helps!

I totally forgot to share…!

Warcraft news wise, we haven’t had a lot to share, which is unfortunate as the blog suffers. We refuse to post for the sake of posting, so we hope you’ll keep checking back for other gaming news and such until something happens on WoW worth blogging about.

However, up until last month, something DID keep us (well, me) logging in each and every day… EMPEROR SHAOHAO rep.

By far, the longest, dullest, hardest and most mind-numbing(est) rep I have ever done. When I completed it, it was my 58th rep, but honestly, I did it for the mount. It’s sooooo beautiful!

WoWScrnShot_042414_161655

I didn’t grind really, I tried to do the dailies and weeklies plus upto about 15 mobs a day pure killing. However, those of you who know me, know I can’t play Mon-Weds, so it always delays my rep gain using dailies. I tried to kill a few in a rep group at the weekend to make up the lost rep, but all-in-all, it took me about 3 months start to finish. Nightmare.

The one good point about this rep was that being on the Timeless Isle meant I could boost pals on lowbie alts through the beginning quests and some rares as I’m that well geared I can solo most of them (excluding the Ship and Huolon of course. We almost two manned it once, but we fell at the last hurdle! 😉

Anyway, it’s been nice to share this (perhaps overdue) achievement, so until next time!

Fishing for a Turtle.

I love fishing, but even after thousands of casts, I still hadn’t fished up the Sea Turtle needed for the Salty title. I fish every time I log in – to level it, to do achievements, for cooking, to get the Pagle rep etc etc and still the mount hadn’t dropped. Typical.

Anyway, I was casually fishing for the final couple of fish for the Nat Pagle rep when all of a sudden I LEAPED out my chair…

WoWScrnShot_032714_104529

I love the animation of this little mount, and he has a very cute face. Totally worth the time spent!

A Timeless Champion.

Out of sheer boredom, I starting camping Golganarr, the last elusive rare that never seemed to be up on Doomhammer. He was pretty massive actually, I felt quite tiny.

Aviary Photo_130412626348767109

A couple of weeks ago at some obscure time of day, he spawned and I finally got my achievement:

Aviary Photo_130412626587843612So anyway, go me. I did think that all that trouble was kinda not worth the 10 achievement points. It would have been nice to have a little title or something…

As you can tell, we’re both a bit bored at the moment. Hopefully something exciting will happen this week for me to post about!

The Tweeters Guild – All Grown Up!

In November, after moving to a new server, we decided it would be as good a time as any to start a new guild for us and our friends.

So, The Tweeters was born!

Aviary Photo_130400738930071906My lovely Panda modelling The Tweeters tabard!

Quill=bird=twitter… geddit?

We have both been away the past few days, so it was sod’s law that the guild dinged level 25 yesterday!

tweeters 25Thanks to Batinna for the screenshot of the magical moment!

We wanted to say a huge thank you and congratulations to everyone who has helped us level the guild and make it the lovely, friendly place that it is. It is a guild for you guys, and you have made it a happy place to be!

Extra Special thanks to:

  • @GPBatinna
  • @GPSicarios
  • @TheLongBoarder
  • @Priestclass
  • @Laeleiweyn
  • @SarahEd1981
  • @Roneebean
  • @Cyrilsneeruk
  • @SarahBurton

We are a special guild in the respect that we are mainly an alt guild – we are a place for you to hang out with a bunch of lovely people, whichever server you’re from. Many have put alts in at level 1 and pop by for a chat; some have alts they enjoy levelling in their spare time; and a few of us with our mains in there even manage to get a few guild HC’s together at max level.

If you’re interested in joining us, we are on Doomhammer EU – contact us via Twitter or whisper anyone online for an invite. We’d love to welcome you into the guild!

Hearthstoning for a Hearthsteed.

We are the world’s biggest noobs when it comes to Hearthstone. Seriously… we played at launch of Beta for a while before giving up as we were just loosing constantly.

I got really into it for a while, levelled a couple of custom decks to level 11. I eventually lost interest as I really feel it’s more of a phone/app game… one where you can play-and-go at work, or on the bus etc. I have much more important things to do at the PC and would much rather be playing WoW or Diablo.

Anyway, Twitter was all at a buzz about the new mount Hearthstone was offering your Warcraft account in exchange for 3 wins… excellent marketing, Blizzard, it got thousands of people to play!

Aviary Photo_130392880095103341After a couple of hours (and plenty of help from the Twitterverse!), we finally got the mount and achievement:

Aviary Photo_130392883841605151

The only bit of advice we can give if you’re still struggling, is to stack your deck with 1/1 murlocs and boars. This means you can put lots of low life minions on the board at once,  overwhelm your opponent and then pewpew them to the death. We did this with a shaman deck and once we got the hang of it, won pretty easily.

Good luck, and enjoy the mount! We certainly like it!
