My Frosty Mage

My Frosty Mage

I KNOW I said I wasn’t going to transmog myself anymore… mainly because I was spending near 400g a day on it and that was stupid when I’m not actively trying to increase my gold amount.

HOWEVER, I couldn’t help myself last week, and a few days ago I was complimented on it (Thanks Martin!), so I thought I’d share it.

I’m not very good at doing original things with transmog. I’m also not very good at putting my Frost mage in anything other than blue or white. Or a witches costume, because, yanno… spells. But here it is, I’m quite proud of it:

I know the front view isn’t very clear, I got carried away with spell effects (ooh, pretty snow!) and didn’t realise.

I ain’t hiking all the way to Mount Neverest for another photo. #SorryNotSorry

The main components are as follows:

  • Shoulders: Slaughterhouse Spaulders
  • Chest: Glacial Robe
  • Hands: Moonfeather Handwraps
  • Waist: Nethershard Girdle
  • Feet: Treads of Alacrity
  • Cloak: Fen-Yu, Fury of Xuen
  • Weapon: Karabor Starsinger’s Staff

I hope you like it! 🙂

Today, after some looooong months of grinding (alternating with being extremely lazy!), something long-awaited for happened:

Aviary Photo_130264233071729810I finally got the Legendary Cloak!

Just incase you’re interested, here’s the transmog list (all available for Justice from the vendors in Dalaran!):

Chest: Meteor Chaser’s Raiment

Gloves: Gloves of False Gestures

Shoulders: Deadly Gladiator’s Silk Amice

Waist: Belt of Omission

I haven’t found a suitably epic weapon just yet, so I’m using Soulkeeper.

I’ve been a bit hooked on transmog recently, so I thought I’d share with you a set I’d been ‘um-ing and ah’ing’ over for months.

Now, I don’t really like grinding for Tier sets, as I really get sick of running the same instances, but the Tirisfal set is a good one which I acquired over a period of a few months.

This is the finished product… for now.

Items

Head: Cowl of Tirisfal

Shoulders: Mantle of Tirisfal

Back: Chieftain’s Cloak

Chest: Robes of Tirisfal

Hands: Imperial Red Gloves

Waist: Aerie Belt

Feet: Deathsilk Boots

Weapon: Soulkeeper

I had some trouble finding a cloak that matched, but I’m really pleased with the final product. I find it really hard to find sets where you can appreciate them in all their glory on Gnomes – they are short and stubby and you can’t see a lot of detail. However, with the glow of the light from the weapon and the nice red colour, I think this is a lovely set!

20 Days of WoW – Day 5

Day 05 – Favourite item(s) in game

This is a tricky one as there’s so many things I love. It’s not very specific so I’ll do 3.

1. My wand. No, my wholewitchy transmog. I’ve finally finished it and I love it – I’ll do a more detailed post another time. I think it’s brilliant that you can turn awesome looking pieces of gear so yours look like it.

2. Mounts. This warrents a whole other post too, as I have lots of favourites – they’re like animals, I just couldn’t choose a favourite without feeling guilty!

3. The novelty archaeology items, like the war drums. Not worth anything but putting a touch of humour into the profession. Love it!

For me? Tier two Bloodfang set for rogues is g.o.r.g.e.o.u.s.

I’m going to get the recolour for my Monk – drops from Heroic BC dungeons.

Five fashionista minutes with Mrs B

I might upset some of you hardcore transmog farmers out there with this post, but I had to enthuse about my transmog early on.

I am by no means a pro. I have no idea what the different tiers are all about – I absorb some of Mr B’s chattering by osmosis but I don’t take an active interest. The fun of transmog, for me, is about the challenge of finding that perfect shade of purple to match my hat. Not grinding BC raids for drops… *yawn*.

Below is Louloutte, my main, a Gnome Mage. I am almost finished with my genius, but as you can see, finding a witch-y two handed staff is proving to be difficult. I have a star wand, which is amazing, but until I get two one-handers, its a no-go. Suggestions welcome!

I also think she looks pretty cool at Halloween, with my black cat, outside Karazhan. I would use the broomstick year-round if I could!
